Liz Kolar, co-founder of Surgent CPA Review, sat down with us to discuss what you should know about the welcome screens on the CPA exam. Avoid wasting time and money by knowing what to expect on these screens ahead of time.
When you arrive at your testing site and launch the exam, there will be 2 sets of welcome screens that must each be completed within 5 minutes. The first welcome screen will ask you to confirm your name, photo ID, exam section, and 7-digit launch code. Once you confirm this information, proceed on to the second set of welcome screens. Here, you will find policy and confidentiality statements that you must agree to. After reviewing and accepting these statements, your exam will begin.
It is critical to know that if you don’t complete these screens within the 5-minute time frame, your exam will be terminated and will not relaunch.
To avoid wasting time on exam day, go to the AICPA’s website and review a sample test to become familiar with the CPA exam and welcome screens.
