What is a ReadySCORE?

ReadySCORE, exclusive to Surgent CPA Review, is a measure of a candidate’s CPA Exam readiness. In Surgent’s prep courses, ReadySCORE is presented cumulatively, as well as by content area and topic, as well as by question type (multiple-choice questions, task-based simulations, and written communication questions). Surgent’s adaptive software, A.S.A.P. Technology, uses a candidate’s ReadySCORE to generate study material targeted to those weaker areas of performance. Learn more about ReadySCORE here.

What is A.S.A.P  Technology?

A.S.A.P. Technology (which stands for Adaptive Study, Accelerated Performance) is a proprietary adaptive learning technology that we have incorporated into our software so that it can quickly reveal your unique areas of need and automatically create a customized study plan that focuses on where you need the most help. A.S.A.P. Technology reduces study time while making the time you do spend more effective.  As part of the technology, all text, questions, and video lectures are integrated to help you master exam topics with ease—no matter your learning style. More info on adaptive learning (and how A.S.A.P. Technology compares to other courses’ so-called adaptive learning) is available here.

What makes Surgent CPA Review better than other courses?

We believe Surgent CPA Review will prepare you for the CPA Exam faster and easier with the adaptive learning technology that we have built within our course.  Our program helps you focus your studies on the areas where you need the most review; we don’t believe you need to read every page of text or watch every single lecture.  We want you to study those areas that will make the most difference come exam day.  Additionally, Surgent’s content is directly aligned with the CPA exam content specification outlines, which gives you a clearer picture of where you are when you finish your studies.  Our program will let you know when you are ready to take the exam.

Can I access the course on a trial basis?

Yes! You can get started in minutes. Click here for free trial access.

How long do I have to study for each part?

Our course provides unlimited access to the course materials.  However, with our study plan and supporting technology, most students report that they study under 64 hours per exam part, which is significantly less than competitive course study time averages.

Who are your instructors?

Our instructors are experts in their field and are engaging and skilled at breaking down those troublesome topics into easy-to-understand sessions.  Some of our key instructors include Liz Kolar, who teaches in our FAR, AUD, and portions of BEC and Jack Surgent, our Regulation instructor. All of our instructors make the difficult topics easy to understand, while creating an enjoyable, memorable educational experience. Biographies of our instructors can be viewed here.

What’s the hardest part to pass?

This will really depend on your education and background.  Most candidates find the Financial Accounting & Reporting section the most difficult; it certainly has the most content.  With a good foundation in Financial Accounting & Reporting, you will find the remaining sections less daunting.

Do you have an app?

Yes, we do. Surgent’s Study Companion App gives learners on-the-go access to exemplary exam-readiness content, including quick learning sessions, flash cards, and videos. Working in conjunction with our web-based exam prep platform, the app provides learners the flexibility to study anywhere and at any time. Plus, it offers bite-sized content paired with easy-to-use mobile features that’s perfect for today’s busy accounting professional preparing for the toughest industry exams. The app offers study increments of two, five, and 10 minutes, offering learning material in the form of videos, flash cards, and other references, along with options to select “Still Learning” or “Got It” for each piece of content. The learner decides their level of understanding and the system reports their progress. The app also utilizes Surgent’s ReadySCORE™ product, which aims to inform users if they are ready to pass the exam prior to sitting for it.

Does the Surgent CPA Review course include the new Document Review Simulation Questions?

Yes, Surgent CPA Review was the first CPA Review provider to add the new question type – Document Review Simulation questions to the FAR, AUD & REG sections of the review course.
